Meet Marcus...

I've always enjoyed writing and photography from an early age. Although, for many years, both practises took a back seat whilst I entered the world of film and television production, still a practising camera operator [www.marcussamperi.com] to this day. It wasn't until I undertook a year-long backpacking journey that it rekindled my love for both the arts. During this period I spent most of my downtime penning my thoughts, experiences, likes and dislikes on old school paper [and pen! - no tablet, shock horror]; and, trying to capture the true essence of the local population through the lens - a camera that has been everywhere with me and still just about survives today. I'm currently in the midst of re-working those diaries into a long-form narrative and should be finished at some point in the near future (I hope). It will finally make it to a finished article, I promise! In my downtime, I like to partake in a challenge or two whether it is a run, kayak or other form of transport - follow my twitter account for more up-to-date details about what's next. My absolute love is stripped-back backpacking trips to all corners of the World, I have been to a few places including Australia, Vietnam, Nepal and India to name a few with many, many more still left to explore. I'm never completely comfortable frequenting hotels and posh restaurants preferring hostels, guest houses, public transport and roadside cafes where I can meet and talk to the local population and find out what it's really like to live in that area. I'm always up for a new experience or travel location so should you have anything in mind and/or would like a travel companion then send me a message, I will be happy to receive it. Life's short, this is a massive world and there is a lot to do. You only have one life, live it!
